A Friendly & Drought-Tolerant Front Yard Landscape Design

Colorado landscape design

This Colorado homeowner wanted to retain trees and some of the perennials in the front yard of her attractive contemporary home, but she needed to replace her lawn with an inviting garden that would require little water once established. She imported her Google map image into the Home Outside app and sent it to us along with photos and notes about what she wanted. The Home Outside design team recommended removing a freestanding wall to open up the entryway and created a welcoming garden of native perennials and small flowering trees. A stepping-stone path leads to a seating terrace backed by low to mid-height shrubs and perennials. The circular terrace is immersed in plants yet open to the street, giving this sociable family a place to relax and greet their neighbors.

“This looks beautiful!” the customer wrote back to us. “Thank you so much to the Home Outside staff!”
